  • CCISD Impact - Whitcomb Elementary School

    Collecting Coins for Hurricane Relief

    Students at Whitcomb Elementary School partner with Jetstream Jax and the Great Kindness Challenge to collect money to help repair playgrounds damaged by Hurricane Harvey. Each grade level determined what they wanted to do to collect Kindness Coins for Hurricane Relief. Most of the grade levels sold coupons each day to participate in an activity such as bringing a stuffed animal to school or wearing your pajamas to class. One grade level organized a Snack Shack and sold healthy snacks before and after school.

    New School and Community Park

    Wedgewood Elementary School in the Clear Creek Independent School District recently held a special dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil its brand new community SPARK Park. The SPARK School Program works with schools and neighborhoods to develop community parks on public school grounds. In the past 30 years, SPARK has built over 200+ community parks throughout the Houston/Harris County area.

    Prairie Grass at Armand Bayou Nature Center

    The sophomore class at Clear Horizons Early College High School took their service learning on the road. More than a hundred students spent the day planting native prairie grass at the Armand Bayou Nature Center.

    Students and staff at Clear Falls High School partner with MD Anderson in a community blood drive to help save lives and assist cancer patients.
