  • Clear Creek High School Ceremony

    Honoring Veterans

    Clear Creek High School held their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Stadium this morning. There was patriotic music performed by the Creek Band, Orchestra, and Choir. The program also featured the Clear Creek HS JROTC and Student Council members. Principal Jamey Majewski and CCISD Superintendent Dr. Greg Smith spoke to the gathering of the entire Creek student body and special guests. Robert Smathers was one special guest  this morning. He just celebrated his 93rd birthday on Nov. 6. Mr Smathers is the grandfather of a current Creek HS student. He served in the 517th Regiment as an Infantry Scout in WW2 and fought in several major battles across Europe including the Battle of the Bulge. During the war Mr. Smathers earned five Bronze Stars, a Bronze Arrowhead, and a Purple Heart. He was recently awarded the French Legion of Honor Award by the French Government.

    Students at Hyde Elementary School in League City competed in a Penny War. In this war, everyone is a winner. The students make a real impact on their community and Shriners Hospital in Galveston is the beneficiary of some friendly competition.

    Science in Clear Creek ISD

    The Clear Creek ISD Science Magnet program is celebrating its 25th year at Seabrook Intermediate School. To open the program to more students, the CCISD Board of Trustees voted to create a second Science Magnet program at Brookside Intermediate School.
